DAY 1

Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi, heading southwest through the scenic Great Rift Valley. Along the way, you’ll pause at a viewpoint to admire the panoramic landscapes that stretch far below. Continuing your journey, you’ll reach the Masai Mara National Reserve in time for lunch at your accommodation. Nestled in the Ol Kinyei Conservancy, the lodge offers a peaceful retreat with beautiful views of the surrounding savannah.

In the afternoon, enjoy an optional game drive into the reserve. This initial safari introduces you to the wildlife of the Mara, with chances to spot giraffes, zebras, and perhaps even a pride of lions preparing for the evening. As the sun sets, return to your lodge for dinner and a restful overnight stay.

DAY 2

Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, head out for a full day of exploration in the iconic Masai Mara. Begin with a morning game drive as you search for the Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros – and take in the vast landscapes dotted with acacia trees. Depending on the season, you might witness the Great Migration, when massive herds of wildebeest and zebras move across the plains.

Return to camp for lunch and a brief rest before setting off again in the afternoon for another game drive. Explore different parts of the reserve, with opportunities to see cheetahs, hyenas, and a wide variety of antelope species. You may also choose to visit a nearby Maasai village for a cultural experience, learning about the community’s traditions and way of life. End your day with dinner back at the lodge and a night under the stars.

DAY 3

Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru National Park

Following breakfast, check out and begin your journey north towards Lake Nakuru, a drive of approximately five hours through the beautiful Rift Valley landscapes. On arrival, check in to your lodge, located near the lake, and enjoy a leisurely lunch.

Later in the afternoon, head into Lake Nakuru National Park for a game drive. The lake is known for its striking birdlife, including thousands of flamingos that color the shoreline pink when in season. The park also provides sanctuary to endangered black and white rhinos, as well as Rothschild’s giraffes. After your game drive, return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 4

Lake Nakuru to Amboseli National Park

After an early breakfast, check out and continue your safari south toward Amboseli National Park, passing through Nairobi. The drive takes around five hours, and you’ll arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. Enjoy a warm welcome at Little Amanya Camp and take some time to settle in.

In the afternoon, set out on your first game drive in Amboseli. Known for its large elephant herds and dramatic views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the park offers a unique and picturesque setting. Keep your eyes open for cheetahs, hyenas, and a variety of birdlife as you explore the park’s swamps and plains. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 5

Amboseli National Park

After breakfast, spend a full day discovering the wildlife and beauty of Amboseli. Start with a morning game drive, where you’re likely to encounter elephants roaming freely with Kilimanjaro as a majestic backdrop. The park is also home to lions, buffaloes, zebras, and numerous bird species, making for an action-packed safari experience.

Return to camp for lunch and a brief rest before heading back out in the late afternoon. Capture the golden hues of sunset over the park and enjoy the tranquility of the savannah before returning to the lodge for dinner and a final night at Amboseli.

Amboseli to Nairobi

Enjoy a relaxed early morning game drive for one last chance to see Amboseli’s wildlife in action. Return to the lodge for breakfast and some time to pack and unwind before check-out. Begin your journey back to Nairobi, a scenic drive that takes approximately five hours. On arrival in Nairobi, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel if extending your stay, or at the airport for your onward flight.
